Have you always wanted to try your hand at clay sculpting and modelling? Now you can do so, at the comfort of your home. Introducing, Hand Pottery – an online initiative from Life and Art Academy for those wishing to pursue pottery and ceramics. Prior experience not needed, this course is for beginners.

How does the online program work:

There will be 8 sessions. Classes will be conducted through zoom meetings. On enrolling, you will receive the materials (clay + basic tool kit) via courier.

Course Overview:

There is a lot to learn in pottery, without using the pottery wheel. Here’s what you will learn in our online hand pottery course:

Pinch Pottery:

A widely used technique from ancient times to now, pinch pottery can be used for ornamental and functional creations. You will learn to make a bowl using this technique.

Coil Pottery:

Learn to create a beautiful pot using coiling technique.

Slab Rolling:

Slab Pottery allows the creation of shapes that are otherwise difficult to achieve using a wheel. You will learn to make a square box with a lid and a serving plate.

Surface Decoration:

Carving, Etching, Sprigging, Creating cutworks and more are taught.

Course Duration:

You will have 8 sessions, spread over 2 weeks.
Classes will be held during the 1st and 2nd week of each month.
Class Days: Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday
Time: 5.30pm to 7pm

Course fee: Rs. 12,500/-
Cost includes: 5kg Clay + Basic Tool Kit + Shipping charges

Terms & Conditions

1. No rescheduling of classes. As we will be following a batch system, any absenteeism cannot be compensated.
2. Recording of classes is not possible, as the information taught and shared is for the enrolled students only.
3. In-case we are unable to conduct the class due to a technical error or any other problem from the academy’s side, classes will be rescheduled and compensated.
4. The materials given are for the complete course, please use it accordingly. Additional clay if required can be ordered from us.
5. The medium of instruction will be English.
6. Students should have a good camera set up, that captures their working correctly. This will ensure effective feedback from the faculty.
7. No refund of fees on cancellation.
